Insurance & Financing

We make checkout easy for parents. While your child is visiting with the dentist, we’ll get your paperwork processed completely, so when it’s time to go – it’s time to go! To make paying for dental care as simple as possible, we accept most insurance, accept cash, checks, and credit cards, and work with reputable financing companies that offer great plans. Do you accept my insurance?

As a courtesy to our patients, we will file the estimated insurance portion directly to the insurance company and collect only the portion the patient owes on the day of treatment. There are a few insurance companies that will only send payment to the patient, so in these rare instances, we ask the parent to pay in full and e insurance check will be issued to you at your home address. We accept all insurance but are not a contracted "preferred provider" with any company. So as long as you are able to select the dentist of your choice and are not required to choose from a list of contracted dentists, your insurance should cover dental services at our Allen office.

What does my insurance cover?

Most insurance companies will give us a percentage ESTIMATE of your coverage when we call them. There is a maximum dollar amount for each dental procedure that your insurance company will pay. Unfortunately, most insurance companies will not tell us this maximum amount, but they call this the "usual and customary fee." We will do our best to estimate your insurance benefits, but ultimately, any balance left on the account is the parent's responsibility. We understand that dental insurance can be quite confusing, so please ask our insurance coordinator if you have further questions. We work every year with a nationally respected dental advisory company who helps us set our fees at a moderate level for the North Texas area. We hope that dental health for children is a high priority for parents and want our services to be affordable to all families.

Do you accept secondary insurances?

We only accept the assignment of benefits from your primary insurance carrier. Once your primary carrier pays us, they will send you an explanation of benefits. This is the information you need to submit a claim to your secondary insurance for direct reimbursement to you. If you have any questions or problems with filing your secondary insurance, our insurance coordinator will gladly assist you.

How is billing handled?

We do our best to properly estimate your portion of each visit and collect at the time of services. Occasionally, there could be a small balance on your account after the insurance company pays their portion. We will send you a statement in the main for this unpaid balance after we receive the insurance payment and are certain that the balance is truly owed by you. In the event that your insurance company is not sending payment in a timely manner (within 90 days of the appointment), we will request payment from the parent and the eventual insurance benefit will be forwarded to you.

Who is responsible for billing?

The parent or guardian who brings the child for the initial visit is ultimately responsible for the final payment of services. We are not able to intervene in matters of divorce.

What are my payment options?

We accept cash, checks, and Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit cards. We also use a third party finance company called CareCredit that extends credit for medical and dental expenses. There are several options with this credit company, and some include a no-interest payment plan. You can apply for CareCredit online or in our Allen, TX pediatric dental office. We understand that sometimes, other financial arrangements are necessary, so please ask to speak with our billing coordinators if one of these options does not fit within your current financial situation.
