Tammy Gough, D.D.S., M.S. New parents immediately notice the comfortable and child-friendly atmosphere in the waiting area, while old-timers rush to play with the various toys and games decorating the room. Small televisions continuous play the latest animated movie meant to entertain patients and set the nervous visitors at ease. Autographed jerseys of Dallas' professional sports teams hang in the treatment area. But the undisputed favorite attraction is a video game room nearby for those awaiting their turn in the dental chair. While parents appreciate the decorations, they value even more the level of dental care provided. "We are a preventive practice. We do conservative treatment and we only use the most advanced materials. Our main referral source is from parents of patients - word-of-mouth from satisfied parents. We give kids lots of choices so that they do not feel like they are being overpowered, so that they are involved in the treatment process." To insure patients receive quality treatment, Gough has experienced staff who functions as a well-oiled machine. "My staff is unbelievable, " enthuses Dr. Gough. "Patients are as trusting and as attached to staff members as they are to me. They are very good with the children and work well as a team." Seven personnel serve the office while Dr. Gough examines patients. "It’s not just a dental visit, it is educational and fun. Our mission is to provide a dental experience that makes kids say 'l can't wait to come back:’" Judging from the happy faces of her young patients, it is obvious Dr. Gough has succeeded. In addition to providing premier dental care to the youth of Allen, Dr. Gough and staff are active in community affairs that make a difference in the lives of children. Her practice sponsors many city and school sports teams, donates to school fund-raisers and auctions, and is a proud sponsor at the Allen USA Celebration. Dr. Gough feels a responsibility to give something back to the children of Allen. Dr. Gough is certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Illinois, Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1987 and Master's of Science (M.S.) in Pediatric Dentistry from Baylor in 1990. Dr. Gough is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, is the current president of the Southwest Society of Pediatric Dentistry and is a past president of the Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She was recently appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the Texas State Dental Board where she serves a six year term as one of the only eight dentists in the state to currently serve on the Board. Dr. Gough has been selected as “Best Dentist in Dallas” by D Magazine for two years. She is a member of the Allen Chamber of Commerce and is a graduate of Leadership Allen IX. She and her husband, Stewart, live in McKinney. We are so excited to have added Dr. Jessie Hunter to the practice in May 2006!
